During 2014 employees from The Consortium raised over £11,000 for their chosen charity of the year, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, which they were delighted to present to the charity recently. From quiz nights to raffles, dress-up days to cake sales, employees have been organising events throughout 2014 to raise as much needed funds to help keep Wiltshire Air Ambulance flying and saving lives. Those more daring members of staff even took part in a charity skydive, which raised over £2,500 towards the final total.
Jo Kent, HR manager and chairman of the charity team at The Consortium, said: “Wiltshire Air Ambulance provides such an invaluable service to the people of Wiltshire – and beyond – and we’re so pleased to play a part in keeping it flying. Our charity team work hard organising lots of fun fundraising activities, which our fantastic staff members are always so enthusiastic to support!”
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is funded entirely by donations and needs £6,850 per day to stay in the air. With their highly skilled, experience and dedicated team, they are able to respond to any major incident in Wiltshire within 11 minutes and attend, on average, 2-3 possible life-saving missions per day.
We are delighted to announce our continued support for Wiltshire Air Ambulance as our chosen charity of the year for 2015. We’ve already lots of fundraising events planned throughout the year – watch this space!
