Members of The Consortium’s charity team presented a cheque for more than £9,000 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance as part of their on-going fundraising for their nominated charity of the year.
The amount was raised through various events held by staff members throughout 2015, which included cake sales, raffles, quiz nights and much more besides. Cathryn Petchey, HR director at The Consortium, said: “We are delighted with the amount staff members have raised this year. Being able to hit the £9,000 mark is especially heart-warming as it means that we have managed to raise enough to fund the air ambulance for one whole day in the air. I’m pleased that we’re continuing to help fundraise for Wiltshire Air Ambulance for a third consecutive year as it really is such a fantastic cause.”
Wiltshire Air Ambulance (WAA) provides a life-saving service to people in and around the Wiltshire area with over 100 missions already flown this year alone.
Kenresa Stratford, one of the fundraising coordinator’s at WAA, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been working with The Consortium over the past three years as their charity of the year. The amount of £9,435.51 is magnificent and a testament to the effort they have put in to support us, with various activities in and out of the office and in particular, participating in Air Ambulance Week and our Wiltshire Big Wheel cycle challenge. We are a charity and we need to raise £3.25 million a year to keep flying and saving lives. Relying almost entirely on the support of the community and businesses just like The Consortium. We are lucky enough to have been chosen again as their charity of the year in 2016 and are looking forward to seeing what the coming year brings.”
We’ve already begun fundraising for 2016 with various baking days, raffles and a warehouse sale with much more in the pipeline for the year ahead.
